December / January News and Events
Consider our Club will not be resuming our monthly club meetings until January 2024, we thought it would be good to share some news and events that you all might be interested in:
- Van Zandt County Republican Chairman, Lance Lenz, will be at the Dinner Bell from 4-6PM Monday, December 11th accepting applications for the primary election. The races are Sheriff, Tax Accessor Collector, Constables 1-4, Commissioners 1&3, and Precinct Chairs. Filing deadline is 6pm, December 11th. Dinner Bell address: 202 W Main Street, Van. ***This will also be a social gathering/time to see what the Chairman does to accept the last day filings to be on the ballot. Feel free to join and learn more about this process!
- The State Representative District 2 race has moved into a run-off election for Brent Money and Jill Dutton with the runoff election being held on January 30, 2023, early voting is January 22-26th.
- The Republican Party of Van Zandt County will be hosting a debate for the candidates on Tuesday, January 9th, 6PM at the Farm Bureau (full details to follow)
