The Republican Club of Van Zandt County is sponsoring two opportunities for students to celebrate Constitution Day, September 17, 2025.

🎨 Art Contest

👉 Open to 4th & 5th graders (public, private, or homeschool).

🏅 Awards: Medals & ribbons for 1st, 2nd, 3rd place.

📅 Due: September 15th

📍 Submit to Suzanne Duke, 527 E. Goshen St., Canton, TX 75103 (mailbox drop-off OK).

🚫 Must be hand-drawn, original work (no AI).

✍️ Essay Contest

👉 Open to Middle School (6–8th) and High School (9–12th) students. (public, private or homeschool)

💵 Prizes:

High School: $250 (1st), $150 (2nd), $75 (3rd)

Middle School: $250 (1st), $150 (2nd), $75 (3rd)

📅 Due: September 15th

📍 Submit to Suzanne Duke, 527 E. Goshen St., Canton, TX 75103 (mailbox drop-off OK).

🚫 No AI use. Essays must be typed, Times New Roman, double-spaced.

— HS: 5–10 pages + footnotes + 5 sources

— MS: 3–7 pages + bibliography (3 sources)

👥 Featuring Senator Bob Hall, State Representative Brent Money, VZC Judge Andy Reese, other special guest speakers, Van ISD High School Choir with patriotic music & select readings from the Declaration of Independence and the Bill of Rights
